Aptos 2022 End of Year Community Update 🍿

It's a pretty fluffy piece to be above the fold this week but hey, sometimes the world isn't crumbling beneath our feet. Ain't that neat? Basically covers the origins of the mainnet launch. Community activation, notable partnerships etc.

Here's the highlight real in numbers:

-> Launched with 102 validators in 22 countries-> 29k cumulative* fullnodes in 2022-> 4.7k Github stars-> 60M cumulative user transactionsWhat do these numbers mean? 👀

No idea. A bit too chonky to be useful data imo. Really hard for me to tell at what level real humans are interacting. I will give them props for launching. Obviously builders are building and they have big plans for 2023.

In other news they mentioned in a twitter space that the Aptos World Tour is gonna be big, fairly no frills, and an actual hackathon not just a hype pavilion. I'm here for it.

Momentum Safe raises $5m 💰

Is it a bear market? Seems like Circle, Jump, Coinbase and a number of non-sketchy-seeming VC's don't think so. Well thats going a bit far but it's nice to see continued investment to build out necessary infra for Move ecosystem. Team is a bunch of heavy hitters too it looks like. 💪
